Why You Need an AI AUP
Without a clear policy, employees will paste sensitive customer data into public chatbots. An AUP sets the "Rules of the Road."
Key Sections of the Policy
1. Approved Tools List
Explicitly list which tools are allowed (e.g., "Enterprise Copilot") and which are banned (e.g., "Personal ChatGPT Accounts").
2. Data Classification
- Public Data: Safe for all AI tools.
- Internal Data: Safe for Enterprise instances only.
- Restricted Data (PII/PHI): NEVER allowed in AI without redaction.
3. Human Review Requirement
"Employees remain responsible for the accuracy of their work. AI-generated content must be reviewed for hallucinations and bias before being sent to customers or published."
4. Copyright & IP
"Do not use AI to generate code that will be incorporated into our core proprietary products without legal review."
